Lygia is a highly accomplished tennis coach and former national champion of Cyprus. A dedicated member of the Cypriot tennis community, she brings over a decade of experience both as a player and as a mentor for the next generation of athletes.
As a former Billie Jean King Cup team member, Lygia represented Cyprus on the international stage and has won numerous national and local titles.
She began her coaching journey under the guidance of Coach Ciprian Petrea, with whom she trained and collaborated for over 16 years, evolving from a top athlete into a respected professional coach.
Lygia is certified by the Cyprus Tennis Federation and PTR International, holding multiple coaching credentials, including ITF Level 2 (Advanced) and specialized certifications for both junior and intermediate levels.
Her experience spans across all age groups — from Mini Tennis to performance-level players. As a coach and sparring partner, she has supported national junior teams in multiple Tennis Europe and ITF international competitions, including the European Junior Championships.
Beyond the court, Lygia’s passion for continuous learning, combined with her strong communication skills and empathetic approach, make her an invaluable member of the Famagusta Tennis Club coaching team.
